Full job description
The Trade Desk seeks a Lead/Senior Software Engineer for Platform Security to lead design, implementation, and evolution of large-scale security services including authentication, authorization, identity, and secure access. The role involves technical leadership, mentoring, architectural decision-making, and incident response for security-critical systems operating globally. Requires 7+ years experience in high-scale environments, expertise in object-oriented languages (C#, Java, C++), distributed systems, infrastructure as code, and system reliability. Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Aliyun), and security engineering is preferred. The position is full-time, located in New York, and offers a salary range of $124,900 to $228,900 USD plus comprehensive benefits including healthcare, 401k, stock purchase plan, and paid time off.

Proven experience designing and delivering distributed systems at scale
Experience deploying and operating services using infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment pipelines
Deep understanding of system reliability, observability, and operational excellence
Experience leading technical design and influencing architecture across teams
Strong communication and collaboration skills with mentoring experience
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or relevant engineering field or equivalent experience
