Full job description

Lead Backend Engineer role responsible for designing, building, and owning distributed systems powering Zeta’s CRM platform. Requires deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and scalable backend services. Responsibilities include leading design and development of mobile communication services (SMS, MMS, RCS), translating business requirements into backend architectures, developing high-performance backend services and APIs, ensuring product quality through code reviews and testing, debugging and resolving production issues, and owning critical platform components. Requirements include 10+ years experience in backend development with Java, Python, Ruby or similar, 3-5 years as a lead engineer or technical architect, strong knowledge of distributed systems and data infrastructure (Kafka, Elasticsearch, Aerospike), familiarity with data warehousing (Snowflake, ClickHouse, Redshift), experience with Thrift, CI/CD, AWS, container solutions, multi-tenant architectures, RESTful services, microservices, Agile and TDD methodologies, real-time streaming pipelines, and AI tools. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required. Location: Bangalore, India.
