Full job description

Senior Manager, Engineering role providing technical leadership for design and architecture of AI and machine learning solutions integrated with partners. Lead a team of 6-10 engineers through software development lifecycle, including research, prototyping, deployment, and operations. Act as a player-coach, setting technical direction and collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders to define product requirements and engineering roadmaps. Own business and organizational strategy for the domain, prioritize problems to solve, and manage tooling and infrastructure investments. Manage hiring, performance, and retention to build a high-performing team. Requirements include BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or related STEM field; 8+ years software development experience with 5+ years managing engineering teams; hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems at scale; expertise in system design and architecture for scalable AI services; experience with cross-team coordination and agile environments. Preferred experience with MLOps, CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, data pipelines, and contributions to the AI community. What you'll do

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6-10 engineers through the software development lifecycle
  • Operate as a player-coach, reviewing designs and setting technical direction by example
  • Own business and organizational strategy for the domain, prioritizing problems to solve
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure cohesive AI-augmented work streams
  • Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to define product requirements and engineering roadmaps
  • Coach team on technical best practices and push for significant impact
  • Manage tooling and infrastructure investments with disciplined decision-making
  • Manage hiring, performance, and retention to build a high-performing team

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related STEM field
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development
  • At least 5 years leading and managing high-performing engineering teams
  • Deep, hands-on experience building and deploying AI and machine learning systems at scale
  • Hands-on experience in modern AI-augmented development workflows
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Product and business stakeholders
  • Expertise in system design and architecture for scalable, production-grade AI services
  • Experience coordinating cross-team projects with other teams or technical program managers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience building and leading teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
