Full job description

Samba is seeking a junior Integration Embedded Engineer for its Taipei engineering team. The role involves developing and maintaining software integrations with Smart TV manufacturers and platform partners to support Samba TV's ACR technology on consumer devices. Responsibilities include integrating and deploying ACR client libraries on embedded Linux and Android TV systems, porting solutions to new hardware platforms, working with audio and video frameworks, debugging software and hardware integration issues, contributing to on-device AI development, and optimizing performance for embedded environments. Candidates should have proficiency in C/C++ and Java, a strong understanding of operating systems, Linux experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, good communication skills, and a proactive, analytical mindset. Experience with Android TV development, machine learning frameworks, embedded development tools, scripting languages, and Git is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Integrate and deploy Samba TV's ACR client libraries and software modules on embedded Linux and Android TV systems
  • Adapt and port ACR solution to new hardware platforms with different SoC architectures and driver interfaces
  • Work within audio and video frameworks on Linux and Android to capture and process media streams
  • Investigate and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and hardware/software integration issues
  • Contribute to evolving platform from ACR to AI including prototyping and implementing on-device machine learning models
  • Analyze and optimize performance of ACR and AI solutions for resource-constrained embedded environments

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Java

  • Experience with Linux from coursework, personal projects, or internships
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
