Full job description

Amazon Ads seeks an experienced leader to head the Ad Tech Sales organization in Japan. The role involves building and leading a sales team focused on programmatic advertising technologies including DSP, RTB, and machine learning optimization. Responsibilities include developing sales strategies, managing C-level relationships, driving strategic partnerships, leading contract negotiations, collaborating with AWS and product teams, and managing business plans and KPIs. Candidates must have 12+ years B2B sales experience, 8+ years managing teams, strong knowledge of programmatic ad tech, and business communication skills in English and Japanese. A bachelor's degree is required; MBA and experience in negotiation, revenue growth, and data analytics are preferred. Location: Tokyo, Japan.

What you'll do

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of Ad Tech Sales professionals in Japan
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and processes to achieve team revenue targets
  • Create and maintain a high-performance culture focused on customer obsession
  • Coach team members to develop their skills and advance their careers
  • Establish clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback
  • Define and execute the regional Ad Tech sales strategy aligned with global objectives
  • Develop and maintain C-level relationships with key agencies and advertisers
  • Drive strategic partnership opportunities that accelerate market adoption
  • Lead complex contract negotiations and strategic deal structures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AWS, Product, and Solutions Architecture
  • Create and manage annual business plans and revenue forecasts
  • Establish team KPIs and track progress against objectives
  • Identify market opportunities and develop expansion strategies
  • Partner with regional and global leadership to align on priorities and resources
  • Drive operational excellence and process improvements

Requirements

  • 12+ years of B2B sales experience
  • Experience with multiple domain areas of programmatic advertising technologies (DSP, RTB, bid shading, machine learning optimization, ad verification, ad tracking, ad attribution, etc.)
  • 8+ years of experience managing teams of 5+ people
  • Track record of successfully hiring and retaining sales talent
  • Proven ability to establish and nurture C-level relationships
  • Business level written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Verbal business communication skills in Japanese
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: MBA
  • Preferred: Experience in high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management
  • Preferred: Experience driving significant year-over-year revenue goals
  • Preferred: Experience working on data integration, data utilization, and analytics as a business owner or service provider
