Full job description

Lead the Account Management and Ad Operations teams in Japan to drive operational efficiency and strategic customer success. Responsibilities include team leadership, process improvement, local operations strategy development, product adoption, client relationship management, campaign execution oversight, and collaboration with global teams. Requires 6+ years in digital advertising with experience in project management and account management, 4+ years managing or mentoring teams, business-level Japanese and English, proficiency in advertising concepts and tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and ability to work under pressure and solve problems calmly.

What you'll do

  • Attract, retain, develop, and motivate a high-performing team with mentorship and career planning
  • Serve as a player/coach managing strategic campaigns to maintain deep process knowledge
  • Monitor team health including utilization, satisfaction, output, and succession planning
  • Drive consistent process improvement and set relevant policies balancing efficiency and localization
  • Develop and execute local operations strategy tailored to Japan market
  • Drive successful adoption and launch of new products and services
  • Serve as primary liaison between Japan and GumGum HQ/regional offices
  • Localize global best practices and collaborate with HQ peers for effective implementation
  • Lead GumGum’s renewal business ensuring industry-leading client experience
  • Build strategic, long-lasting relationships with key clients
  • Support sales by managing strategic sales opportunities and discovering growth opportunities
  • Own Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process for key strategic accounts
  • Maintain deep industry knowledge of ad trends to capitalize on revenue and growth opportunities
  • Oversee Ad Operations and Account Management teams to ensure proper campaign implementation and management
  • Optimize ad delivery to fulfill revenue goals including pacing, forecasting, and revenue tracking
  • Lead internal pod meetings to align on client success metrics
  • Oversee implementation of GumGum’s advertising products and technologies for direct and programmatic campaigns

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree or relevant experience in digital advertising
  • At least 6 years of experience in digital advertising, preferably combining project management/operations and Account Management/Media Planning
  • Experience in trafficking, optimising, and pacing digital advertising campaigns
  • 4+ years of direct management or mentorship of individual contributors
  • Business-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency
  • Proficient with online advertising terms, concepts, and revenue models
  • Intermediate skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage various internal and external stakeholders while delivering on client expectations
  • High energy level and enthusiasm for digital technology; team player and self-starter
  • Confident and passionate about leading teams and mentoring team members
  • Flexible attitude and ability to accommodate evolving responsibilities
  • Able to balance competing demands in a high-pressure environment to deliver on deadlines
  • Patience and ability to find solutions in difficult scenarios while remaining calm
