Full job description

Full Stack Engineer role in Taipei to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications and services for Samba's data and advertising products. Responsibilities include developing React-based web UIs for Android TV and embedded Linux devices, building Node.js backend services and APIs, optimizing performance for constrained TV hardware, debugging across the stack, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and prototyping AI-powered features. Requirements include proficiency in JavaScript (ECMAScript), Node.js, React, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), Git, CI/CD pipelines, and 3-5 years of professional full stack or web application development experience. Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field required. Nice-to-have skills include GraphQL, gRPC, data streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark), scripting languages (Python, Go), CI/CD tools (Bitbucket Pipelines, ArgoCD), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cybersecurity awareness.

What you'll do

  • Develop and ship web-based user interfaces with React for Android TV and embedded Linux devices
  • Build and integrate Node.js services and APIs connected to Samba TV's data platform
  • Optimize front-end and service performance for constrained TV hardware
  • Investigate and resolve defects, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues across the stack
  • Collaborate closely with TV Platform, AI teams, design, and product partners
  • Prototype and integrate new AI-powered features into the viewer experience

Requirements

  • Proficiency in ECMAScript (JavaScript)
  • Comfortable with Node.js ecosystem
  • Experience with React.js library and ecosystem
  • Strong grasp of building responsive, performant web applications
  • Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and optimized SQL queries
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proficiency with version control using Git
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in full stack or web application development
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit
