Full job description

MiQ is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead development teams building its proprietary trading platform for advertisement campaign lifecycle management. The role involves architecting, designing, and developing end-to-end software products and systems, utilizing modern web frameworks and big data technologies. Responsibilities include leading high-performance teams, hiring and developing engineers, aligning technology with business needs, ensuring product quality and timely releases, contributing to architecture and API design, and driving continuous engineering improvements. Required qualifications include 10+ years of experience in product development, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, expertise in multi-tier web applications, object-oriented design, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), NoSQL, distributed systems, microservices architecture, agile practices, leadership and mentoring skills, and strong communication abilities.

What you'll do

Lead high performance technology teams
Lead from the front and lead by example
Hire & develop talented leads & engineers
Own and drive business features into technology requirements
Work closely with Product Managers and Customers to align technology choices with business requirements
Ensure high quality and timely release & support of products
Actively drive and contribute to architecture and design of products and APIs
Stay updated on emerging technologies and apply them
Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices and improve engineering efficiency
Assist the team on design, code reviews and troubleshooting
Evangelist for high quality products and driver of best practices

Requirements

10+ years’ experience bringing innovative products to the market
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
Experience building multi-tier web applications
Experience working on all layers of the stack is a plus
Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Design & Design Patterns
Excellent grasp of one or more OO languages
Experience with cloud technologies, SaaS, PaaS & IaaS
Good understanding of NoSQL technologies and Distributed systems
Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP
Prior experience with Microservices based architectures
Internalized and practices agile best practices
Leadership skills to build high performance teams
Eagerness to mentor the team and be a go-to technology leader
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Innovative in terms of product, technology and processes
Stay up to date with the latest technologies
Participate in formulation of the technical roadmap and strategy
