Full job description

Pre-sales engineer role focused on Dynamics 365 CRM solutions including Sales, Customer Insights, Customer Service, Contact Center, Field Service, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio. Key responsibilities include leading technical engagements from initial briefing to contract signing, conducting demos, PoCs, and workshops, collaborating with sales and partners, delivering executive briefings, and handing off validated opportunities to SI partners. The role requires 3+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 and comparable CX/contact center solutions, proven ability to lead solution strategy, deliver technical demos to enterprise decision makers, and collaborate effectively with sales and technical teams. High proficiency in Japanese is required. The position is based in Tokyo, Japan.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical pre-sales activities for Dynamics 365 Sales & Service opportunities in Japan from initial briefing to contract signing
  • Conduct envisioning sessions, solution demos, PoCs, and Proof-of-Value engagements to translate business challenges into achievable future visions
  • Collaborate with account executives on account planning, qualification, RFP/RFI responses, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning against Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, HubSpot, FastHelp
  • Deliver executive briefings to CFOs, COOs, CIOs at Japan HQ and overseas leadership
  • Lead hands-on workshops and solution experience sessions to clarify customer challenges and propose solutions
  • Understand latest product roadmaps and preview features, conduct technical validations, and present demos to customers and partners
  • Handoff technically validated opportunities to SI partners for implementation (no delivery leadership)
  • Demonstrate AI agent capabilities in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Field Service to customers
  • Present first-party agents embedded in Dynamics 365 products and integrated Microsoft portfolio including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Office apps
  • Use Copilot Studio agents to present 'art of the possible' scenarios integrating Microsoft platform and business applications
  • Stay updated on Dynamics 365 roadmap, competitive landscape, and AI trends in CRM
  • Collaborate closely with SI partners and ISVs to enable pre-sales teams, co-present, and drive joint pipeline
  • Provide structured customer feedback to Microsoft product teams
  • Represent Microsoft at industry events, executive roundtables, and customer advisory boards

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience or equivalent IT industry experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Insights, Customer Service, Field Service or comparable enterprise CX solutions such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, FastHelp, Genesys, Avaya, Five9
  • Extensive experience leading solution strategy throughout the opportunity lifecycle
  • Proven track record of demonstrating differentiated solution value and competitive advantage
  • Experience delivering customer-facing technical demonstrations to enterprise decision makers
  • High proficiency in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Experience collaborating with sales leaders and team members to drive pipeline creation and deal closure
  • Strong collaboration skills with technical pursuit teams designing cloud-based customer solutions
  • Successful experience working with customers/stakeholders in pre-sales or consulting engagements related to business applications
