Full job description

The Director of Marketing Measurement Strategy & Implementation at Microsoft Advertising is responsible for developing and operationalizing marketing measurement strategies that drive marketing direction and investment decisions. This role partners with marketing, sales, analytics, product, and finance leaders to create outcome-based measurement frameworks linking marketing efforts to growth and revenue. Responsibilities include designing and implementing advanced measurement methodologies such as attribution models, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling, applying privacy-first measurement approaches, leveraging modern marketing data stacks and AI-driven tools, translating insights into executive recommendations, leading adoption of measurement systems, managing large scale projects, tracking deliverables, and ensuring compliance. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, with preferred qualifications including advanced degrees and extensive hands-on experience in marketing measurement, change management, privacy-first environments, and AI platforms. The role is full-time, on-site in Redmond, WA; San Francisco, CA; or Mountain View, CA. Salary ranges from $130,900 to $251,900 annually, with higher ranges for specific locations.

What you'll do

  • Drive requirements for design & implementation of advanced measurement methodologies including attribution models, incrementality testing, mixed media modeling (MMM)
  • Apply privacy-first measurement approaches ensuring data governance and compliance standards
  • Leverage modern marketing data stacks, analytics platforms, and AI-driven measurement tools to build scalable data pipelines and reporting infrastructure
  • Translate complex measurement insights into executive-ready strategic recommendations influencing leadership decisions
  • Lead adoption of new measurement systems and standards across large, cross-functional marketing organizations
  • Drive large scale planning and provide solutions for complex projects by identifying milestones and leading team discussions
  • Track deliverables and timeliness, proactively identify and resolve blockers, opportunities, and risks
  • Gather information on complex product scenarios through research and interviews
  • Analyze marketing team work to identify potential future business opportunities
  • Oversee development and execution of processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improve effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance of Marketing Measurement products, programs, policies, and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years of marketing operations, product management or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of marketing operations, product, or related experience OR equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in marketing measurement, including designing and implementing attribution models, incrementality testing, and/or Media Mix Modeling (MMM) at scale
  • 7+ years of experience leading change management initiatives, driving adoption of new measurement systems, process improvement, frameworks, or standards across large, cross-functional marketing organizations
  • 5+ years of experience operating in privacy-first measurement environments, with fluency in cookieless measurement approaches, consent frameworks, and advertising data governance
  • 5+ years of experience working with modern marketing data and AI platforms, including analytics tools, data pipelines, and emerging AI-driven measurement or optimization solutions
