Full job description

Microsoft Advertising seeks a Director of Launch Operations to lead global Go-To-Market launch process governance, cross-functional alignment, and product/seller readiness. The role requires managing end-to-end launch execution, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and driving accountability across product, sales, engineering, finance, and compliance teams. Responsibilities include leading large-scale programs, fostering team accountability and growth, and communicating effectively with senior leadership. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in sales, sales operations, program management, or related fields, with strong data-driven decision-making and leadership experience. Experience in digital advertising and sales enablement is required. The position is full-time, hybrid, and located in Redmond, WA; Mountain View, CA; Chicago, IL; or New York, NY. Salary ranges from $130,900 to $251,900 annually, with higher ranges for Bay Area and NYC.

What you'll do

  • Lead global end-to-end Go-To-Market Launch process governance models, owning the MSA operating model for launch execution.
  • Clarify ownership boundaries across Product, Product Marketing, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Global Commercial & Strategy Operations, and corporate Microsoft partners.
  • Ensure all launches operate within a consistent governance framework and scale launch models to support high volume.
  • Drive accountability for launch execution health and adherence to launch exit criteria.
  • Ensure all Sales and Customer impacting launches flow through Launch Operations.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to resolve friction points and eliminate execution bottlenecks.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional partners to ensure product and seller readiness for launches.
  • Elevate cross-functional gaps and adjust governance documentation to solve systematic gaps.
  • Reinforce team identity as trusted advisors to sales and go-to-market leaders.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, technical teams, and field audiences.
  • Craft compelling context connecting strategic priorities and product capabilities to customer value.
  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional programs with end-to-end ownership from problem definition to execution.
  • Establish documentation, operating rhythms, and success measures for managing complex programs.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, dependencies, and risks while maintaining momentum and trust.
  • Foster an environment of accountability, results, and psychological safety.
  • Model Microsoft culture and leadership principles.
  • Coach teams and individuals by setting clear objectives and enabling success.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top talent with focus on long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years experience in sales, sales operations/management, program management, business development, marketing, consulting, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience using data to drive business outcomes or inform business decisions.
  • 5+ years experience managing relationships with stakeholders, clients, and/or customers.
  • 12+ years experience in sales, sales operations/management, program management, business development, marketing, consulting, or a related field OR equivalent experience (preferred).
  • 5+ years managing projects, including planning, managing timelines, and tracking progress, and/or change management experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years people management and/or informal/indirect team leadership experience (preferred).
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional programs spanning multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify unmet or emerging customer needs through quantitative and qualitative insights and translate into scalable solutions.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, independently scoping problems and driving execution.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to influence decision-making.
  • Proven track record of exceptional performance and high productivity in leadership roles.
  • Experience in digital advertising and understanding customer buying and seller selling processes.
  • Experience in Sales Operations, GTM strategy, Sales Enablement or similar.
