Samba seeks a Director of Content Marketing to lead content strategy and build a high-performing editorial newsroom using Samba’s media intelligence across TV, web, and emerging platforms. The role requires translating complex AI, ML, and data science concepts into clear content for advertisers, agencies, publishers, and partners. Responsibilities include managing the full content lifecycle, collaborating with Product Marketing, PR, Sales, Technical teams, and executive leadership, and managing a small team. Deliverables include reports, visuals, articles, social posts, and enablement materials. Candidates should have 7-10+ years in content marketing, preferably in ad tech, martech, data platforms, or SaaS, hands-on experience with AI tools (GPT, Claude, autonomous agents), strong storytelling and writing skills, and ability to work independently and lead a team. A BA in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism is required; advanced degree is a plus. The position is full-time, based in San Francisco, California, with a salary range of $170,000 - $180,000 plus benefits including health insurance, wellness, life and disability insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
What you'll do
- Build and lead a high-performing content engine/editorial newsroom leveraging Samba’s media intelligence
- Drive focused content strategy aligned with launches, GTM priorities, and audience needs
- Produce high-impact, multi-format content (reports, visuals, articles, social, case studies, videos, enablement)
- Translate complex data and AI/ML concepts into clear, snackable narratives
- Create repeatable storytelling frameworks around cross-screen insights, measurement, AI audiences, and ad effectiveness
- Own the content calendar end-to-end for timely, high-quality output
- Collaborate with data science, product, and engineering for accuracy and clarity
- Position Samba as leader in AI-driven advertising, cross-screen measurement, and future of streaming
- Partner with PR/Comms on executive thought leadership, media narratives, and analyst/conference content
- Identify content opportunities from trends, competition, customer insights, and internal innovation
- Ensure narrative consistency and develop strong customer stories demonstrating ROI
- Manage and optimize distribution across LinkedIn, X, and other channels
- Lead social strategy to amplify thought leadership and product news
- Monitor engagement and performance to refine content decisions
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing to support GEO, SEO, SEM, and paid promotion
Requirements
- 7–10+ years in content marketing; bonus if in ad tech, martech, data platforms, or SaaS
- Comfortable creating content topics around AI/ML, data science, predictive analytics, and AI-driven marketing
- Hands-on use of AI tools (e.g., GPT, Claude, autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks)
- Ability to work independently driving projects end-to-end and manage a team
- Exceptional writing/storytelling skills to simplify technical concepts for varied audiences
- Full-stack creator for visual content, long-form reports, and social posts
- Collaborative and effective across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Executive teams
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in fast-changing environments
- Bias for action—ship, learn, iterate
- Clear, human, on-brand writing voice
- Comfortable speaking at conferences
- BA in Marketing, Communications, Journalism; advanced degree a plus
