The Trade Desk seeks a Director of Digital Marketing to lead North America media strategy and digital marketing efforts. Responsibilities include owning integrated digital marketing programs to drive brand awareness, engagement, demand generation, and commercial impact. The role involves managing paid digital channels, audience segmentation, account-based marketing, budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional partnerships. The director will lead a team, oversee media budgets, optimize campaigns, define measurement frameworks, and collaborate globally. Requirements include 12+ years in digital marketing with B2B technology or ad tech experience, expertise in programmatic and paid media, budget management, team leadership, and strong analytical and communication skills. Preferred skills include familiarity with Marketo, Salesforce, Tableau, and global marketing experience. What you'll do
- Own North America digital media strategy and develop integrated media and campaign plans
- Serve as strategic advisor on media planning, audience strategy, measurement, channel optimization, and creative activation
- Leverage first-party, third-party, intent, behavioral, and proprietary data to reach key personas and target accounts
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and investment allocation across paid digital channels
- Drive ongoing optimization, testing, and innovation across channels, audiences, creative, identity solutions, and measurement methodologies
- Define measurement frameworks, KPIs, reporting standards, and executive performance reviews
- Provide strategic leadership for in-house digital marketing and programmatic teams
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of digital marketers
- Manage relationships with key media, technology, data, and measurement partners
- Partner with Business Development teams to share audience insights and campaign learnings
- Consult on B2B sales strategy and client partnerships with programmatic best practices
- Collaborate with EMEA and APAC digital marketing counterparts to scale best practices and innovation
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in digital marketing, media strategy, performance marketing, and demand generation
- Experience in B2B technology, SaaS, or advertising technology environments
- Proven experience leading integrated media strategies across programmatic, paid social, paid search, direct digital, and emerging channels
- Deep expertise in B2B marketing best practices, audience targeting, account-based marketing, complex buying journeys, and partner landscape
- Strong understanding of modern programmatic advertising ecosystems including DSPs, audience platforms, identity solutions, measurement methodologies, and attribution frameworks
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar media budgets and optimizing investments against business outcomes
- Experience leading and developing high-performing digital marketing or media teams
- Exceptional analytical skills to translate complex performance data into strategic recommendations and executive insights
- Experience managing agency, publisher, platform, and technology partner relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a fast-paced environment
