Viant is seeking a Director of Applied Science to lead the design, deployment, and performance of real-time machine learning systems for programmatic advertising. The role involves hands-on technical leadership, ownership of ML models and production systems, and managing a team of applied scientists and ML engineers. Responsibilities include defining ML problem formulations, managing operational challenges of production ML, improving bid decision systems, and collaborating with product and engineering leadership. Requirements include 10+ years of ML production experience, 5+ years in technical leadership, expertise in real-time decisioning systems, strong ML problem formulation skills, and a relevant bachelor's degree (master's preferred). Benefits include fully paid health insurance, paid parental leave, and unlimited PTO. Salary range is $230,000 - $260,000.
