Full job description

Moloco is hiring a Data Scientist II to join the Product Analytics Data Science team working closely with R&D on the core Ads product. The role involves conducting deep-dive analyses on large datasets to influence product decisions and strategies, building metrics to measure campaign health, and evaluating ads system health. Candidates must have strong problem-solving skills, experience owning complex projects end-to-end, excellent communication skills, and expertise in statistics and programming (Python, R, SQL, Pandas, Dplyr). A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 4+ years experience in a quantitative discipline is required. The position is full-time and on-site in Menlo Park, California. The salary range is $131,000 to $182,000 USD with a competitive benefits package.

What you'll do

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to influence R&D decisions and strategies
  • Analyze large datasets with queries and scripts to extract valuable signals and produce actionable insights
  • Build the right metrics to measure campaign health and improve campaign performance monitoring
  • Understand cause-and-effect relationships across drivers
  • Evaluate ads system health by diagnosing issues through input/output metrics of each component

  • Leverage data-driven insights to influence and guide product decisions, roadmap prioritization, and business strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience in experimental design, hypothesis testing, and statistical analysis techniques such as regression or linear models
  • Experience with programming in Python, R or other scripting languages
  • Experience with database languages (e.g. SQL) or data manipulation tools (e.g. Pandas, Dplyr)
  • Ability to build positive relationships within the data science team and with product management and engineering stakeholders
  • 3+ years of work experience in data science related fields or advanced degree with 4+ years experience
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering)
