Comscore is seeking a Data Scientist for the Television Analytics team focused on building and maintaining data science methodologies for US national and local television and cross-platform measurement. The role involves working with large-scale linear television data to build algorithms, tools, and projection solutions. Responsibilities include data analysis using SQL, Python/R, UNIX/Linux, delivering insights, ensuring data integrity for various media products, developing analytical methods, troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Requires a quantitative degree, 2-4 years experience in data-driven research, expertise in SQL, Spark, R/Python, strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with Media Rating Council is a plus. Work hours primarily 2 pm - 11 pm IST with some flexibility for global meetings. What you'll do

  • Use SQL, Python/R, UNIX/Linux and internal/third-party tools to generate, analyze, and deliver data-driven insights
  • Interpret results, present findings, and recommend alternative solutions to management and business decision makers
  • Ensure timely and error-free operation, production, and delivery of syndicated product data
  • Maintain integrity and validity of data for On Demand, Linear TV, Digital, and Cross Platform products
  • Develop analytical approaches to answer high-level questions and provide insightful recommendations
  • Support research and investigation of client-reported inquiries
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Engineering, and Best Practices teams to meet business goals
  • Develop routine analytical methods and proactively seek solutions to issues
  • Suggest improvements to methodologies
  • Provide complex troubleshooting of analytical methods
  • Use attention to detail and problem-solving skills to find and correct data problems, applying statistical methods to adjust and project results
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across teams and functions
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Comscore's TV methodologies

Requirements

  • Degree in a quantitatively focused discipline (Statistics, Economics, Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computational Finance, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, etc.)
  • 2-4 years of experience in synthesis of research findings and making data-driven arguments
  • Expertise in querying and manipulating data using SQL, Spark, R/Python
  • Ability to learn complex methodologies quickly
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to convey complex analytical approaches and findings with strong writing skills
  • Intrinsic ability to identify patterns, problems, or analysis opportunities in data
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Experience with Media Rating Council (MRC) is a plus
