Full job description

The Cloud Reliability Engineer is responsible for writing and integrating open source and closed source tools. The role requires expertise in systems engineering and automation, including configuration management, containerization, and scripting. Responsibilities include developing and deploying cloud-based tools, containerizing applications, supporting development and operations teams, debugging code, ensuring system observability, and participating in on-call rotations. Requirements include 3+ years in DevOps or SRE, Linux administration experience, cloud provider experience (AWS, Google), serverless architecture, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, programming in Python or GoLang, and SQL/Google BigQuery experience. Benefits include fully paid health insurance, paid parental leave, and unlimited PTO. Salary range is $130,000 to $150,000.

What you'll do

  • Develop, configure, and deploy tools for cloud based systems and services
  • Containerize new and legacy applications
  • Maintain awareness of new technologies
  • Provide level of effort (LOE) and scoping for projects
  • Support development and operations teams
  • Enhance, modify or debug developer code as needed
  • Ensure comprehensive observability across application and system performance
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for system incidents and maintenance

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a DevOps or SRE-related role
  • 2+ years experience with Linux administration in a professional setting
  • 2+ years experience with one or more large cloud providers (AWS, Google)
  • 1+ years experience with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions)
  • 1+ years using Docker and or Kubernetes
  • 1+ years experience using Terraform - writing vanilla Terraform to instrumenting modules
  • Ability to create CI/CD pipelines GitHub Actions
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python or GoLang
  • Experience working with SQL and Google BigQuery
