Cloud Architect

What you'll do

• Lead architectural efforts to modernize and scale infrastructure across multiple geographies and heterogeneous cloud providers
• Collaborate with other groups to understand needs and translate them into production-ready platform capabilities
• Define and champion a petabyte-scale multi-cloud data strategy ensuring data governance, security, and cost efficiency
• Provide architectural oversight for multi-cloud microservices design focusing on resilience, traffic management, data locality, and failure domain isolation
• Lead AI transformation initiatives to enhance developer experience and leverage generative AI models for software delivery and operational efficiency
• Foster cross-group alignment and build consensus among engineering leaders and business stakeholders
• Define technical vision, architecture, and long-term directions for the Cloud Platform group and R&D organization
• Champion engineering excellence, mentor engineers, and support professional growth
• Participate in the company’s architect forum and facilitate org-wide technical decision-making

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development and platform engineering experience
• At least 5 years in technical leadership positions within a large-scale SaaS or distributed systems environment
• Expert-level proficiency in AWS Cloud
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable, global, high-availability infrastructure
• Significant experience in designing and implementing multi-cloud systems spanning at least two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes internals (operators, controllers, networking, security)
• Experience designing and optimizing large-scale data platforms including streaming architectures (Kafka/Kinesis), data warehousing, and distributed file systems
• Deep understanding of CI/CD concepts and advanced implementations (e.g., GitOps, progressive delivery)
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills
• Ability to lead complex and sensitive decision-making processes effectively
