Full job description

The Trade Desk is hiring a Business Development Director to manage critical workstreams within a strategic client relationship with Procter & Gamble. The role involves developing and executing advertising strategies, partnering with client teams across programmatic, media, analytics, purchasing, and brand, and engaging senior brand decision makers. Responsibilities include shaping media buying strategies, contributing to commercial strategy and joint business plans, collaborating with internal teams, identifying growth opportunities, and presenting to senior stakeholders. Candidates should have 5-10 years of experience in consultative selling at a DSP or online advertising role, proven revenue growth, strong client relationship skills, and familiarity with Salesforce and CLM. Experience with CPG clients and P&G is a strong plus. The position is full-time based in Chicago, Illinois. Salary range is $146,000 to $267,700 USD. What you'll do

  • Take ownership of critical brand categories and growth workstreams within The Trade Desk's strategic partnership with Procter & Gamble
  • Develop and execute strategies to support the brand's advertising efforts across assigned categories
  • Partner with client's programmatic, media, analytics & insights, purchasing, and brand teams
  • Engage with senior brand decision makers
  • Provide thought leadership in shaping media buying strategies aligned with marketing objectives
  • Contribute to commercial strategy and Joint Business Plan execution across CTV, identity, retail media, measurement, and custom solutions
  • Partner with business development, client services, trading, and technical account management teams
  • Understand client's evolving needs and identify ways to enhance ad buying efficiency and precision
  • Lead proactive recommendations for channel expansion, new brand entries, and net-new lines of business
  • Contribute to partnership planning and road-map discussions with senior leadership at the brand
  • Collaborate across internal stakeholders to develop new inventory, data partnerships, measurement, and custom solutions
  • Present in client business reviews and planning/hosting events with senior client stakeholders
  • Build lasting internal connections across The Trade Desk to support a complex, cross-functional account

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering results, building senior relationships, and collaborating across cross-functional teams at scale
  • Consultative seller with experience at a DSP or other online advertising role
  • Track record of exceeding revenue expectations
  • Experience cultivating client relationships at major brands and/or holding-company agencies
  • Comfortable navigating complex stakeholder maps spanning media, purchasing, analytics & insights, and brand teams
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Passion for owning a room and closing deals with teammates
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and CLM a plus
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Marketing, and Inventory stakeholders
  • Experience working with or for a CPG client in the online advertising space
  • P&G experience is a strong plus
