Full job description Amazon Web Services Professional Services team seeks a senior ProServe Cloud Architect based in Tokyo to design and implement cloud solutions for enterprise customers in Asia-Pacific. Responsibilities include creating solution designs for migrations, modernization, AI/ML, and cloud-native architectures, collaborating with account executives and delivery teams, providing technical expertise in pre-sales, and engaging Japanese-speaking customers. The role requires 7+ years of technical architecture experience, fluency in Japanese (N1+), and knowledge of AWS services. Preferred qualifications include a relevant bachelor's degree, AWS Associate certification, and experience working cross-functionally. The architect will focus on AI, Agentic AI, and Retail/Consumer Goods verticals, collaborating across Amazon business units to drive successful implementations and customer satisfaction.

Operate as the conduit between ProServe Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams, ensuring proposed solutions are realistic and optimized
Provide technical expertise throughout the pre-sales process and customer cloud journey
Architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to each customer's needs
Bring particular depth in AI, Agentic AI, and Retail/Consumer Goods (RCG)/Commerce verticals
Engage Japanese-speaking customers and stakeholders, delivering technical guidance and presentations in Japanese

Drive SOW signings and successful implementations that exceed customer satisfaction (CSAT) expectations
Share knowledge through mentoring, training, and creation of reusable artifacts
Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging technologies including Generative AI, Agentic AI, and intelligent commerce solutions
Support diverse teams in making production-proven solutions discoverable and deployable across ProServe teams globally Requirements 7+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences in pre-sales environments Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies Fluent in Japanese (written and spoken) at business level or above (N1+) Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or related field (preferred) AWS Associate level certification (preferred) Experience translating technical analysis and metrics into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders (preferred) Experience working cross-functionally and across regions (preferred) Knowledge of Amazon business units and operational models (Commerce, Supply Chain, Advertising, Customer Experience) (preferred) Tech stack AWS compute storage networking security databases machine learning serverless AI Agentic AI Generative AI
