Full job description Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, reliable, and secure application platform at Zeta Global. Responsibilities include defining platform strategy, architectural design of microservices and APIs, integrating AI agents and LLMs, ensuring scalability and reliability, improving developer experience, evaluating emerging technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining documentation and governance. Requires 10+ years in software engineering with 3-5 years as lead architect or principal engineer, expertise in microservices, RESTful APIs, Java/Scala/Python, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and strong leadership skills. Preferred experience with AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), service meshes (Istio, Linkerd), IAM, and security architecture.

Architect and build platform services and APIs enabling AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and agentic workflows
Ensure platform scalability, high availability, performance, and fault tolerance
Create tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve developer experience and accelerate development
Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and architectural patterns
Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to embed security, monitoring, and operational best practices
Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and governance standards for platform architecture and usage Requirements 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a lead architect or principal engineer role Extensive experience designing and building large-scale, distributed application platforms Deep expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native services Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills Preferred: Experience with AI/ML frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar Preferred: Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) and API gateways Preferred: Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) systems Preferred: Experience with security architecture, including threat modeling and secure-by-design principles Preferred: A track record of contributing to open-source projects or speaking at industry conferences Tech stack Java Scala Python AWS Docker Kubernetes Terraform Ansible LangChain LlamaIndex Istio Linkerd IAM
