Full job description

The Ad Operations & Automation Lead is a technical expert within Client Services responsible for managing complex escalations, leading an offshore Ad Ops team, and driving enablement to support client retention and revenue growth. Key duties include managing pixel/tag implementation, DSP setup (TTD, DV360), PMP optimization, AI tooling ownership, and automation adoption. The role requires collaboration with Client Services, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams. Candidates should have 4+ years in ad operations or programmatic roles, technical fluency with DSPs, SSPs, PMPs, ad servers, experience troubleshooting pixel/tag issues, familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, API integrations, and experience managing offshore teams. The position is full-time and based in Chicago, Illinois or New York, New York.

What you'll do

  • Own complex escalations across pixel/tag implementation, DSP setup, and PMP configuration
  • Partner with Client Services on client communications and JIRA escalations through resolution
  • Create playbooks, training materials, and run 1:1s to build team autonomy
  • Manage PMP optimization responsibilities including deal health, pacing, and performance
  • Build tooling to expedite increases in PMP usage
  • Own AI tooling for Client Services and champion automation adoption
  • Identify manual workflows and partner with Product to build tooling to eliminate or accelerate resolution
  • Build strong relationships across Client Services, Sales, and Product/Engineering
  • Serve as Client Services SME in client conversations and design scalable processes with leadership
  • Directly manage and develop the offshore Ad Ops team (4 members) with weekly syncs, priority setting, QA, and accountability
  • Triaging and resolving escalations from Client Services and offshore Ad Ops on pixel/tag issues, DSP setups, and PMP deal health
  • Run weekly sync with offshore team to review QA output, set priorities, and coach on complex cases
  • Meet with Associate Directors of Client Services to understand knowledge gaps and progress training and playbook development
  • Review recurring manual workflows and partner with Product on automation recommendations
  • Join client calls with Client Services leads to troubleshoot measurement discrepancies or support campaign kick-offs

Requirements

  • 4+ years in ad operations, programmatic, or digital media execution as the technical owner of campaigns or ad operations, including senior IC or manager experience
  • Deep technical fluency with DSPs, SSPs, PMPs, and ad servers
  • Experience troubleshooting pixel/tag issues using browser dev tools, Charles, or similar
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and server-side or API-based integrations a plus
  • Experience managing or working with offshore resources
  • Clear communication skills to translate technical issues into plain language and write clear instructions
  • Process-oriented with ability to build systems
  • Prior experience in a measurement, data, or ad tech company in a technical function
