Full job description

Vistar Media is seeking a senior Account Director based in Tokyo to manage and grow business in Japan's DOOH market. The role involves building relationships with major agencies, trading desks, and data partners, adapting marketing materials for the Japanese market, developing client portfolios, educating the market on programmatic DOOH benefits, responding to RFPs, and collaborating with analytics to demonstrate ROI. Candidates must have 5+ years in client-facing roles in Japanese media or ad-tech, native Japanese fluency, professional English proficiency, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and a deep understanding of Japan's DOOH and programmatic ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Expand advertiser client portfolio by building high-trust relationships with Japan’s Holding Companies, independent shops, and direct brands
  • Maintain and adapt media kits, presentations, and marketing materials to resonate with Japanese market standards
  • Develop targeted hit lists and leverage existing networks to maximize long-term client partnership value
  • Raise demand-side awareness of Vistar Media as the leading global exchange for Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH), educating the market on programmatic benefits
  • Leverage global MSAs while navigating local trading desk relationships to grow clientele and secure long-term partnerships
  • Work closely with Client Services to respond to RFPs, ensuring client communications meet high service standards in Japan
  • Partner with Analytics team to translate client KPIs into measurement strategies proving ROI in local context
  • Act as primary point of contact for key clients, managing relationships from pre-sale strategy through post-campaign analysis

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role within the Japanese media, ad-tech, or digital advertising industry
  • Native-level fluency in Japanese
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • Deep understanding of the Japan DOOH landscape and the programmatic ecosystem
  • Proven track record of establishing trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders at major agencies and brands
  • Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint for data-driven storytelling
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
