Full job description

The VP, Salesforce Solutions leads pre-sales and solutioning within Merkle's Customer Data Solutions business, focusing on Salesforce Data Cloud and Agentforce. This senior role involves shaping technically sound, commercially defensible proposals, partnering with senior and C-level clients, and leading multi-disciplinary pursuit teams. Responsibilities include owning solution architecture, platform positioning, executive client partnership, alliance engagement with Salesforce, solution asset development, identity and data architecture integration, AI readiness strategy, practice enablement, and driving business impact by protecting and growing Salesforce-related revenue. Requires 10+ years in customer data or MarTech strategy, deep Salesforce Data Cloud expertise, Agentforce/AI solutioning experience, strong pre-sales skills, and executive communication. Preferred experience includes consulting or systems integration, multi-platform fluency, competitive landscape knowledge, and thought leadership. Role is hybrid with up to 25% travel. What you'll do

  • Own pre-sales solutioning for Salesforce Data Cloud and Agentforce pursuits
  • Develop and maintain strategic and technical point of view on Salesforce platforms
  • Serve as senior technical authority in client-facing pursuit settings
  • Collaborate with Salesforce partner and co-sell teams
  • Build and maintain repeatable pre-sales assets
  • Leverage Merkury identity platform and first-party data capabilities in solution design
  • Define approach to Agentforce solutioning and AI readiness
  • Contribute to capability development including hiring, certification, and enablement
  • Generate external thought leadership
  • Protect and grow Salesforce portion of CDS revenue by ensuring technically precise and competitive solutioning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; advanced degree or relevant certifications (Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant, Salesforce AI Associate/Specialist, or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in customer data, MarTech, or data platform strategy and architecture roles
  • Hands-on experience designing production-grade Salesforce Data Cloud architectures
  • Demonstrated Agentforce or AI solutioning experience
  • Proven pre-sales or solutioning track record with C-suite presentations
  • Deep fluency in first-party data strategy including identity resolution, consent and privacy management
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills
  • Preferred experience in consulting, systems integration, agency, or MarTech vendor environments
  • Broad multi-platform fluency including Snowflake, Tealium, Adobe Experience Platform
  • Familiarity with competitive landscape and proprietary identity resolution platforms
  • Demonstrated external thought leadership in Salesforce, CDP, or marketing data ecosystem
  • Familiarity with AI agent deployment patterns and LLM integration in CX workflows
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
