Full job description

Liftoff is hiring a Senior Technical Manager for the Creative Serving team. This role involves defining and communicating the long-term strategy and roadmap for creative serving systems, translating business goals into team objectives, collaborating with ML and product teams, balancing short- and long-term development velocity, setting engineering culture standards, providing technical feedback, and mentoring engineers. Candidates must have 5+ years in software engineering with 2+ years managing engineers, strong technical judgment, solid coding skills, and experience building scalable engineering systems. Experience with Go, HTML/CSS/JS, and ad tech is a plus. The position is full-time remote within the US, with salary ranges varying by location from $176,000 to $255,000. What you'll do

  • Define, shape, and clearly communicate long-term creative serving strategy, vision, and roadmap
  • Translate business goals into team-level goals working closely with cross-functional leaders
  • Work closely with ML and product stakeholders to ensure creative serving infrastructure meets their needs with high quality
  • Balance short-term and long-term velocity to ensure steady stream of improvements
  • Set the bar for engineering culture, encourage best practices, hold individuals accountable, and improve processes
  • Provide deep technical feedback on key projects
  • Grow the next generation of engineers and leaders

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering
  • 2+ years managing engineers
  • Proven track record of building and scaling engineering systems including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
  • Excellent technical judgment with ability to dive deep, review designs, navigate complex code bases, and give substantive feedback
  • Solid engineering and coding skills
  • Excellent team communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Go and HTML/CSS/JS is a plus
  • Experience with ad tech is a solid plus
