Epsilon is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Agentic Platform team in Bengaluru, India. The role involves designing, delivering, and executing large-scale cloud-native agent platform systems primarily on AWS. Responsibilities include building scalable REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures using Python, Django, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and AWS services. The engineer will develop agent runtime services, product UIs, and MCP federation capabilities, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency. The role requires collaboration with global teams and ownership of the full software development lifecycle including testing and observability. Candidates must have 12+ years of experience, advanced skills in Python/Django backend and TypeScript/React frontend, extensive AWS knowledge, and expertise in distributed systems or cloud platform engineering. What you'll do

  • Build and deliver large-scale cloud-native agent platform capabilities primarily on AWS
  • Leverage REST APIs, WebSockets, SSE, microservices, and event-driven architectures
  • Work hands-on across the technology stack including Python, Django, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, AWS Bedrock, Strands Agent SDK, MCP, Terraform, and Docker
  • Design, develop, and operate agent runtime services including spec compilation, pre-flight authorization, skills seeding, MCP tool orchestration, streaming responses, and run package recording
  • Build and enhance agent builder and product UIs using React 19, shadcn/ui, TanStack Query, and type-safe OpenAPI client generation
  • Implement MCP catalog, gateway, and federation capabilities; integrate domain MCP servers for loyalty, customer CDP, messaging, digital media, and related enterprise systems
  • Drive performance optimization, scalability, reliability, security, tenant isolation, governance, and cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with global engineering, product management, architecture, AI/ML, and business partners
  • Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, solution design, development, deployment, observability, and documentation
  • Contribute to observability and quality through OpenTelemetry instrumentation, Grafana/Phoenix tracing, pytest/Vitest/Playwright testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • At Lead and Staff levels: mentor engineers, lead technical design reviews, set engineering standards, and drive cross-team initiatives

Requirements

  • E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
  • 12+ years as Staff Software Engineer with expertise in scalable applications, distributed systems, and org-level technical leadership
  • Defines platform architecture and drives standards for security, observability, reliability across teams
  • Expert in at least one area: distributed systems, LLM/agent runtime, or cloud platform engineering
  • Advanced Python and Django skills for backend APIs, Celery, and multi-app architectures
  • Proficient in TypeScript and React for modern web apps
  • Experienced in designing scalable REST APIs, microservices, containerized workloads, and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch; familiarity with document/graph stores is a plus
  • Extensive AWS experience including ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, SQS, ALB, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, IAM, Bedrock
  • Skilled in asynchronous processing, SSE/WebSocket streaming for real-time interactions
  • Authentication/authorization expertise with Okta/OIDC, JWT, claims-based access in multi-tenant SaaS
  • Hands-on IaC tools like Terraform and AWS CDK
  • CI/CD and DevOps proficiency with GoCD, CodeDeploy, ECR, GitHub/GitLab, automated pipelines
  • Strong testing practices with pytest, Vitest, Playwright
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with Generative AI technologies; hands-on preferred for senior roles
  • Nice to have: experience with Strands Agent SDK, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, LiteLLM, MCP servers, agent evaluation tools, React Flow, Expo/React Native, A2A protocol, Neo4j, Trino, Databricks, Vertex AI RAG integrations
