Full job description

Tatari is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join the Engineering team. The role involves managing and supporting customer-facing applications and back office/business intelligence systems, improving application and system reliability, participating in architecture discussions, and collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product managers on infrastructure needs. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred), strong Linux, shell/bash, and Python skills, experience with monitoring/logging tools (DataDog, Kibana), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), configuration management (Terraform), and managing RDBMS (Postgres/RDS, Redshift). Experience with ingestion, ETL, streaming, and big data processing (Kafka, Spark) is a plus. The position is full-time, hybrid (2 days in-office), located in Los Angeles, CA. Compensation ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 plus equity and benefits including health insurance, 401K, education stipend, WFH reimbursement, unlimited PTO, wellness days, and team events.

What you'll do

  • Manage and support several customer facing applications and products
  • Work to find ways to improve application and system reliability across infrastructure
  • Participate in technical architecture discussions; deployment, security and availability strategies
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to understand infrastructure-related needs
  • Manage and support back office and business intelligence systems used across multiple departments and teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with Auto Scaling, CDNs, DNS, Load Balancers, Multi Region and Multi-Tenant Topologies, Proxy Servers, and WAFs
  • Strong experience with Linux, shell/bash and Python scripting
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (DataDog, Kibana, or similar)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, or similar)
  • Experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience managing RDBMS (Postgres/RDS, Redshift, or similar)
  • Experience with ingestion and ETL (a plus)
  • Experience with streaming and big data processing (Kafka, Spark, or similar) (a plus)
