Full job description

The Application Security Engineer will strengthen the security of Epsilon’s software applications by embedding security into the development lifecycle and advancing AI-enabled engineering practices. Responsibilities include overseeing application security platforms (e.g., Veracode, SonarQube, Wiz), guiding analysis of security findings, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to align security practices with policies, integrating AI tools to improve secure code generation and remediation, providing clear security guidance, producing KPI-based security reports, educating teams on secure coding, and driving onboarding of new teams into security platforms. The role requires strong collaboration, analytical skills, organizational discipline, and experience with AI tools, Bash scripting, Ansible, Terraform, and cybersecurity concepts. An associate degree or two years of hands-on experience in application security or cybersecurity is required.

What you'll do

  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for application security platforms ensuring effective configuration and adoption
  • Guide and review analysis of application security findings with Security Champions and engineering teams
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security Champions to align application security with policies and standards
  • Integrate AI into application security to enable secure-by-design engineering practices
  • Guide teams in using AI tools for secure code generation, review, and remediation
  • Position AI as a scalable mechanism to improve security coverage and engineering productivity
  • Serve as a trusted advisor providing clear guidance, risk context, and actionable recommendations
  • Communicate security risks and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Produce and deliver monthly KPI-based reporting on security trends and adoption metrics
  • Educate, coach, and enable development teams and Security Champions on secure coding and security platforms
  • Drive onboarding of new teams and applications into security platforms ensuring consistent implementation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Product, Engineering, and Security to mature security practices

Requirements

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational discipline for consistent and accurate deliverables
  • Associate degree or at least two years of hands-on experience in application security or cybersecurity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools and workflows in development
  • Strong knowledge of Bash scripting and tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Prior experience as a software developer and familiarity with cybersecurity concepts
