Full job description

The Trade Desk is hiring a Security Operations Engineer to join the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team. The role involves responding to and investigating security incidents, monitoring alerts, collaborating on incident response processes, maintaining documentation and playbooks, leading incident post-mortems, participating in on-call rotations, automating detections, threat hunting, and responding to emerging threats using threat intelligence. Requirements include a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 6+ years in cybersecurity with incident response experience, knowledge of cybersecurity tools and IT frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, COBIT, ITIL), risk management understanding, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently and in teams. Certifications in cybersecurity and experience with application, SaaS, or cloud security, and programming/scripting languages are preferred.

What you'll do

  • Respond and investigate security incidents including monitoring and triaging security alerts and events
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to document, monitor and coordinate Incident Response processes
  • Maintain Cybersecurity documentation repository including creation and maintenance of playbooks
  • Participate or lead incident post-mortems and provide best practice recommendations
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for a global organization
  • Analyze and identify opportunities for automation and additional detections
  • Perform proactive threat hunting to identify and combat new tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Identify, assess, and respond to emerging threats and vulnerabilities using Threat Intelligence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Cybersecurity including incident handling/response
  • Understanding of technical aspects and tools of Cybersecurity
  • Working knowledge of common IT technologies and processes
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity and IT frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, COBIT, ITIL
  • Understanding of risk management principles and methodologies
  • Ability to transform abstract requirements into cohesive actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate in a team and work independently
  • Conceptual understanding of software development methodologies
  • Knowledge of ISO27001/27002, PII, PHI, financial data regulations, data residency, and international regulatory aspects (plus)
  • Experience with application security, SaaS, or cloud security (plus)
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (plus)
  • Certifications in Cybersecurity or related (strongly preferred)
