Sr. Engineering Manager - Social

What you'll do

• Lead a team of motivated engineers and develop critical, large-scale distributed services for Social products
• Deliver large complex projects, services, and APIs that scale iteratively with business value
• Oversee end-to-end integrations with Social Integration Platforms
• Own major strategic initiatives pushing forward Engineering teams
• Define processes and structures for growth and execution of a diverse engineering organization
• Contribute to architectural decisions focusing on product and business needs
• Explore the technical landscape of the Big Data ecosystem
• Provide technical guidance and coaching through brainstorming, design reviews, and pair-programming
• Interact with executive-level management and negotiate critical matters
• Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business objectives to technical teams
• Attract, interview, hire, and onboard engineers and team leaders
• Optimize SDLC processes including CI/CD implementation
• Operate production environments, investigate issues, assess impact, and develop solutions
• Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility for product development and delivery

Requirements

• Lead by example - design, lead, and deliver quality solutions
• Passionate about building and operating mission-critical data-intensive and distributed systems
• Ability to architect and design complex software systems while adhering to fundamental principles and best practices
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of distributed system technologies, standards, and protocols
• Genuine desire to automate decision-making, processes, and workflows
• Experience with following and advocating state-of-the-art SDLC processes
• Fluent in SQL and data analysis
• 9+ years of programming experience using languages such as Python
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working in big data systems using BigQuery, Airflow, and building data pipelines at scale
• 3+ years of experience in leadership roles
• Experience working with DevOps domain - build servers, Docker, and container clusters (Kubernetes)
• Experience in mentoring and growing a diverse team of talented data engineers
• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field
• Excellent communication skills and a team player
• 1+ years of experience in Online Advertising technology (Preferred)
• Expertise in dbt and BigQuery (Preferred)
