Full job description

Senior Engineering Manager to lead Social Engineering team building integrations with major social platforms to measure ad performance. Responsible for scalable, reliable distributed systems processing billions of transactions daily. Lead team delivery of complex projects, APIs, and strategic initiatives. Define engineering processes, contribute to architecture, explore Big Data technologies, provide technical coaching, communicate with stakeholders, and manage hiring. Requires 9+ years programming (Python), 3+ years big data systems (BigQuery, Airflow), 3+ years leadership, DevOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes), SQL fluency, and a CS degree. Preferred experience in online advertising technology and expertise in dbt and BigQuery. Role is hybrid in New York City with salary range $131,000 - $260,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you'll do

  • Lead a team of motivated engineers developing large-scale distributed services for Social products
  • Deliver large complex projects, services, and APIs that scale iteratively with business value
  • Oversee end-to-end integrations with Social Integration Platforms
  • Own major strategic initiatives pushing forward DV Engineering teams
  • Define processes and structures for growth and execution of engineering organization
  • Contribute to architectural decisions focused on product and business needs
  • Explore Big Data ecosystem technologies and frameworks
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching through brainstorming, design reviews, and pair programming
  • Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business objectives to technical teams
  • Attract, interview, hire, and onboard engineers and team leaders
  • Optimize SDLC processes including CI/CD implementation
  • Operate production environments, investigate issues, assess impact, and develop solutions
  • Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility for product development and delivery

Requirements

  • 9+ years of programming experience using languages such as Python
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working in big data systems using BigQuery, Airflow, and building data pipelines at scale
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership roles
  • Experience working with DevOps domain - working with build servers, Docker, and container clusters (Kubernetes)
  • Experience in mentoring and growing a diverse team of talented data engineers
  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player
  • 1+ years of experience in Online Advertising technology (Preferred)
  • Expertise in dbt and BigQuery (Preferred)
  • Fluent in SQL and data analysis
  • Ability to architect and design complex software systems
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of distributed system technologies, standards, and protocols
  • Experience with following and advocating state-of-the-art SDLC processes
  • Genuine desire to automate decision-making, processes, and workflows
