Sr. Database Administrator-7950

What you'll do

• Provide technical leadership for developing and supporting optimization and forecasting solutions for inventory management, planning, and campaign delivery software
• Administer databases including MySQL, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MongoDB
• Deploy, configure, and manage AWS cloud services (EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, Route 53, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch)
• Model data, design schemas, manage data structures, and select data types (JSON, UUID, BLOB)
• Implement automated backup and restore strategies, snapshot management, and recovery plans
• Optimize SQL and NoSQL queries, manage indexing, and scale architectures for performance and stability using Percona Toolkit
• Build and optimize dashboards and alerts using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and PromQL
• Develop automation services and scripts using Python, Go, Shell, GitHub, and VSS
• Manage permissions, encrypt sensitive data, and configure IAM policies, Secrets Manager, and VPC security groups using AWS and Terraform
• Perform version control and CI/CD using GitHub
• Deploy databases in containers using Kubernetes and Docker
• Perform all aspects of database administration including hardware/software evaluation and installation, logical and physical database design and implementation, testing, security administration, backup and recovery planning, performance tuning, research and evaluation of new tools, and policy development
• Implement and support development, QA, and production systems at data centers
• Maintain capacity planning
• Develop and implement complex data models and logical database designs
• Oversee design, tuning, maintenance, and support of database systems for highly available, high-volume internet applications
• Provide recommendations on database technologies and features
• Work with network and security teams to ensure database adherence to security standards
• Guide and mentor junior-level team members

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 5 years experience administering databases including MySQL
• Experience implementing automated backup and restore strategies, snapshot management, and recovery plans
• Experience optimizing SQL and NoSQL queries, managing indexing, and scaling architectures for performance and stability using Percona Toolkit
• Experience using Prometheus, Grafana, and PromQL scripting language to build and optimize dashboards and alerts
• Experience developing automation services and scripts using Python and Shell
• 3 years experience administering DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MongoDB
• Experience deploying, configuring, and managing AWS cloud services including EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, Route 53, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch
• Experience modeling data, designing schemas, managing data structures across systems, and selecting data types including JSON, UUID, and BLOB
• Experience developing automation services and scripts using Go, GitHub, and VSS
• Experience managing permissions, encrypting sensitive data, and configuring IAM policies, Secrets Manager, and VPC security groups using AWS and Terraform
• 1 year experience performing version control and CI/CD using GitHub
• Experience deploying databases in containers using Kubernetes and Docker
