Full job description
FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and support a high-quality video advertising platform. The role is based in Reston, Virginia. Responsibilities include full lifecycle software development, producing technical specifications, writing efficient code, developing verification plans, integrating software components, maintaining functionality, supporting business operations, driving technical innovation, mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with stakeholders, designing and supporting software applications, training staff, documenting technical requirements, evaluating competitive products, and providing technical leadership. Required qualifications include extensive experience with C/C++, Golang, database design, network programming, large system software design, distributed and mission-critical systems, problem solving, Agile and SDLC knowledge, strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to work under pressure and extended hours, and preferably advertising industry experience. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 7-10 years of relevant work experience are required. Salary range is $141,850.78 to $212,776.16 depending on experience. Requirements
Extensive experience with C/C++/Golang, DB design and network programming
Experience with large system software design and development
Experience with distributed systems and mission-critical systems is preferred
Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation
Strong passion with learning/practicing new technics
Knowledgeable about SDLC, Agile and Software Engineering Methodology
Team working skills, good communication skills, willingness to work under pressure
Strong ability and persistency on technical support
Ability to work close with cross-function teams and accept additional working time besides normal working for handling production issues
Advertising industry experience is a plus
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience
