The Senior Account Manager, Demand Activation at FreeWheel is responsible for driving programmatic demand strategy, optimizing buyer performance, and enabling advertiser campaign activation across the FreeWheel Marketplace. This role requires technical expertise, consultative account management, and deep knowledge of programmatic video and CTV ecosystems. Key responsibilities include partnering with sales and demand teams to optimize buying strategies, analyzing demand partner performance, managing agency and DSP relationships, supporting commercial programs, collaborating with product teams on new offerings, providing programmatic expertise, and maintaining marketplace intelligence. Candidates must have 5-7 years of experience in ad tech account management, strong understanding of programmatic ecosystems, proficiency with analytics and ad tech tools, and excellent communication skills. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. The role is based in New York, NY. Salary range is $100,106.20 to $150,159.30 base pay plus targeted commission of $49,714. What you'll do

  • Partner with Agency Sales, DSP Account Managers, and Demand Integrations to optimize programmatic buying strategies and campaign activation
  • Analyze demand partner performance and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Guide partners on programmatic best practices, marketplace configuration, and maximizing CTV campaign performance
  • Monitor demand partner trends and identify opportunities to increase spend and optimize performance
  • Develop and manage relationships with agencies and DSP partners
  • Support operationalization and optimization of agency-facing commercial programs
  • Drive adoption of high-value inventory packages and deal structures
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to roll out new programmatic products
  • Serve as conduit for platform feedback and participate in roadmap discussions
  • Coordinate with Supply Activation to align demand strategies with supply readiness
  • Maintain strong understanding of CTV supply trends and programmatic inventory packaging
  • Provide technical guidance on demand activation, buyer decisioning, and campaign fulfillment
  • Act as subject-matter expert on programmatic issues including deal setup and bid stream optimization
  • Leverage marketplace intelligence tools to track metrics and inform recommendations
  • Participate in Demand Partner QBRs, business reviews, and strategic meetings
  • Develop presentations and materials communicating marketplace opportunities and insights
  • Collaborate with Activation Operations on escalation and troubleshooting
  • Maintain internal documentation of account activities and strategic plans
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment demonstrating ownership and adaptability

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in account management or partner-facing roles within ad tech
  • Digital video/CTV experience strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem including DSP buying behavior, SSP dynamics, auction mechanics, and cross-platform video environments
  • Proven success managing strategic relationships with DSPs, agencies, programmatic partners, or enterprise demand-side clients
  • Strong consultative, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly insights
  • Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and ad tech platforms (e.g., Salesforce, video ad servers/SSPs, DSP interfaces)
  • Comfort working with AI-assisted tools and willingness to integrate AI into workflows
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
