Full job description

Software Engineer II role at The Trade Desk in San Jose, CA. Design and implement scalable, secure internal web applications and services using C#, TypeScript, React, .NET, REST/GraphQL APIs, and SQL databases. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated test suites. Analyze product and operational data to improve processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver production-ready features and own full feature lifecycle. Develop AI-assisted automation tools in Python using Large Language Models. Requires Bachelor's degree with 4 years experience or Master's degree with 2 years experience, 2 years coding and full-stack experience, technical communication skills, and experience with Boomi and Python. Salary range $226,138 to $227,000 per year. What you'll do

  • Design system architectures and application components for internal web applications and services including front-end, backend, API contracts, and database models
  • Ensure designs align with scalability, security, and compliance requirements
  • Implement and maintain internal web applications and services using C#, TypeScript, React, .NET
  • Develop REST/GraphQL APIs, database schemas (SQL), and service integrations following secure coding and data governance practices
  • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes for microservices and web applications
  • Monitor releases and resolve deployment issues
  • Develop and maintain automated tests including unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites
  • Ensure test coverage and reliability through continuous integration
  • Participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards
  • Analyze operational and product data to assess effectiveness of process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Use insights to validate outcomes and inform future engineering priorities
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into technical designs
  • Deliver incremental, production-ready features
  • Own full lifecycle of features and small projects including design, implementation, documentation, rollout, monitoring, and iterative improvement
  • Build AI-assisted tools and automation in Python using Large Language Models and Retrieval Augmented Generation to streamline routine tasks and enhance internal tooling

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years of experience, OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience
  • 2 years coding experience in modern languages
  • 2 years full-stack software engineering experience
  • 2 years technical communication experience including writing design documents, system documentation, providing feedback, and giving project updates
  • 1 year experience with object oriented programming language
  • 1 year experience writing Transact-SQL
  • 1 year experience with software development lifecycle including version control, code review, and deployment
  • Experience with Boomi
  • Experience coding in Python
