Full job description

Mediavine is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the AdTech Engineering team. The role involves leading and executing projects across the AdTech stack including JavaScript/TypeScript web wrapper and Rust-based OpenRTB server. Responsibilities include technical design, deployment, A/B testing, partner integrations, production incident response, and mentoring peers. Candidates must have 4+ years of software engineering experience, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, knowledge of web application lifecycle, experience with A/B experiments, strong code review and communication skills, demonstrated ownership, and effective use of AI coding tools. What you'll do

  • Lead and execute multiple concurrent projects across the AdTech stack including web wrapper features, OpenRTB server enhancements, SSP integrations, A/B test rollouts, and privacy/consent work
  • Own projects from technical design through deployment and post-launch validation
  • Act as a lead on initiatives spanning multiple teams, write technical design docs, drive review discussions, coordinate with Ad Operations and SRE, and keep stakeholders informed
  • Contribute high-quality code across JavaScript/TypeScript wrapper, Rust s2s exchange, and supporting tooling
  • Design, ship, and analyze A/B experiments translating revenue, viewability, and Core Web Vitals signals into actionable conclusions
  • Build and maintain integrations with SSP partners, diagnose integration issues, and improve supply path efficiency
  • Respond to production incidents with appropriate urgency and follow up with durable fixes
  • Leverage modern AI coding tools to accelerate research, prototyping, code review, and debugging
  • Provide meaningful feedback in code reviews and mentor peers
  • Participate in sprint planning, scoping, estimation, and contribute to team strategy
  • Stay current on ad tech ecosystem developments including Prebid, GAM, MCM, privacy regulations, identity solutions, and AI-driven supply trends

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Track record of leading projects end-to-end and shipping production systems
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, including browser runtime, asynchronous patterns, and performance-sensitive client-side code
  • Solid working knowledge of the request/response lifecycle of modern web applications
  • Experience designing and running A/B experiments and interpreting results
  • Strong code review skills with ability to give and receive feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and follow-through
  • Effective use of AI coding assistants as a force multiplier
