Full job description

The Trade Desk is a global technology company specializing in digital advertising platforms. The Measurement Upper Funnel engineering team is based in APAC with members in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Sydney. This role involves end-to-end ownership of product development including design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring of scalable, data-driven systems. Technologies used include .Net/.Net Core, Javascript (React), gRPC, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and Flink. Engineers work in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Aliyun) and use tools like Terraform, GitLab, Bamboo, SonarQube, and databases such as SQL Server, Vertica, and ClickHouse. The role requires programming skills in C# or Java, SQL proficiency, understanding of microservices architecture, Agile development, cloud platforms, and database technologies. Familiarity with data analytics tools like Apache Spark or Databricks and Python data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas) is preferred. What you'll do

  • Design, build, and deliver high-impact, data-driven systems
  • Participate in every stage of product development from design to deployment and monitoring

  • Emphasize code reviews, automated testing, deployment pipelines, metrics, and continuous monitoring
  • Mentor, teach, lead by example, participate in hiring and community building
  • Own end-to-end delivery of scalable technology solutions

Requirements

  • Proven skills and interest in programming (C#, Java, or equivalent)
  • Proven skills in SQL to query data from databases
  • Understanding of designing web-based and microservices architecture
  • Understanding of Agile development methodology and development practices
  • Experience in cloud-based platform experience (AWS, Azure or Aliyun)
  • Understanding of database technologies such as row-based vs column-based RDBMS, Document, Key-Value
  • Understanding of data analytics tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark or Databricks
  • Familiarity with Python-based data analysis (e.g. NumPy or Pandas) is preferred
