Full job description

Software Engineer I role at The Trade Desk in Bellevue, WA. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable web services using C# with ASP.NET and HotChocolate frameworks. Optimize code, database queries, and distributed systems to reduce costs. Build developer tools using C# and Python. Troubleshoot systems including OS, build & deployment, and applications. Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define requirements. Mentor new developers and conduct code reviews. Independently manage projects with focus on priorities and KPIs. Participate in monitoring, testing, and validation tool development. Implement features and bug fixes following best practices. Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 year experience in software development with Object Oriented languages, web development with JavaScript and React, REST API frameworks, distributed systems, Linux and Git, Python and shell scripting, SQL, client-server architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Salary range $151,400 to $227,000 per year. What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test and maintain web services at scale using C# with ASP.NET and HotChocolate
  • Optimize application code, database queries, and distributed system design to reduce infrastructure cost
  • Build command line or web-based developer tools using C# and Python
  • Troubleshoot operating systems, build & deployment systems, and application systems
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications
  • Guide new developers on workflows and system architecture
  • Provide feedback on code quality, performance, and maintainability through code reviews
  • Independently plan and execute projects with understanding of priorities, KPIs, and ROIs
  • Participate in designing and building monitoring, testing, and validation tools
  • Implement application features and bug fixes following modern software engineering best practices without guidance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field
  • 1 year software development experience in Object Oriented languages
  • 1 year web development experience with JavaScript and React
  • 1 year experience with REST API frameworks
  • 1 year experience with distributed systems
  • 1 year experience with software development on Linux including Git
  • 1 year experience with Python and shell scripting
  • 1 year experience with relational databases and SQL queries
  • 1 year experience with client-server architecture
  • 1 year experience with cloud platforms similar to AWS, Azure, or GCP
