Full job description

The Trade Desk seeks a Senior Trading Specialist to analyze large-scale programmatic advertising data across CTV, audio, and retail media. Responsibilities include developing analytical frameworks, conducting testing initiatives, performing technical QA, troubleshooting technical issues, implementing first-party data onboarding and identity resolution workflows, and leading strategic programmatic initiatives. The role requires collaboration with product, engineering, and agency teams to optimize platform performance and influence media investment strategy. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Political Science or related field, 3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in quantitative modeling, data extraction and visualization tools (Vertica, STATA, SQL, Tableau, Power BI), advanced Excel skills including VBA, and experience with pixel and server-side tagging and Unified ID solutions. Domestic travel up to 10% is required. Salary range is $109,491 to $145,500 per year. What you'll do

  • Integrate and analyze large-scale programmatic advertising datasets across CTV, audio, and retail media
  • Develop and implement analytical frameworks for cross-platform advertising exposure evaluation
  • Design and conduct structured testing initiatives including alpha and beta programs
  • Perform technical QA and performance validation analyses
  • Analyze testing outcomes to improve efficiency and measurement accuracy
  • Document scalable implementation frameworks and provide data-driven insights to product and engineering teams
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design, evaluate and deploy custom solutions including bidding algorithms and optimization logic
  • Lead technical troubleshooting for tag implementation errors, tracking discrepancies, data ingestion failures, identity resolution gaps, attribution mismatches, and auction delivery inefficiencies
  • Implement first-party data onboarding and identity resolution workflows including Unified ID configuration
  • Lead strategic programmatic initiatives architecting data-driven campaign frameworks
  • Leverage platform and reporting tools to translate analytics into commercial outcomes influencing media investment and budget allocation
  • Partner with agency leadership and senior planning stakeholders to shape media investment strategy and position programmatic as a growth driver

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Political Science or related field
  • 3 years of experience in related role
  • Experience applying quantitative modelling and financial forecasting principles including bid optimization modeling, auction dynamics analysis, CPM-to-CPA efficiency modeling, budget pacing algorithms, and ROAS/CAC forecasting
  • Experience extracting, querying and manipulating large datasets using Vertica, STATA, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or DB Visualizer
  • Experience designing advanced data visualization frameworks and analytical dashboards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for large-scale data analysis and process automation including VBA scripting, macros, pivot tables, advanced lookup functions, data modeling, and formula optimization
  • Experience developing strategic client-facing presentations grounded in quantitative data analysis
  • Experience partnering with clients to implement pixel-based and server-side tagging frameworks and ingest first-party data including configuring identity resolution workflows leveraging Unified ID (UID) solutions
  • Domestic travel up to 10% for client meetings
