Full job description

The Trade Desk is seeking a Senior Trading Specialist in Tokyo to lead data-driven client conversations and strategy development in programmatic advertising. The role requires 6+ years of client-facing experience in ad tech or digital marketing, bilingual fluency in Japanese and English, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and advanced MS Excel and data visualization capabilities. Responsibilities include consulting clients on campaign goals, operating as a platform power user, collaborating with sales and account teams, troubleshooting technical issues, developing best practices, and contributing client insights to the product roadmap. Experience with SQL, R, Tableau, or Python is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Lead data-driven conversations using the platform and custom reporting to provide insights and connect advertising to business results
  • Spearhead strategy development to keep clients competitive in first-party data activation, CTV consolidation, and retail measurement
  • Consult with clients on campaign goals and strategies to maximize platform value
  • Operate as a platform power user and build client capability to plan, execute, and optimize independently
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Sales to educate clients and grow portfolio
  • Build and own key relationships with client planning, trading, and analytical teams
  • Troubleshoot advanced technical problems including performance issues, measurement discrepancies, and constrained targeting
  • Develop best practices, create training collateral and client-facing guides, and onboard new teammates
  • Shape the product roadmap by feeding client insights into platform development

Requirements

  • 6+ years of consultative, client-facing experience in ad tech, digital marketing, or other data-intensive industries
  • Bilingual fluency in Japanese & English
  • Passionate about client success
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic mindset with ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong data storytelling skills
  • Advanced MS Excel and data visualization skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to draw insights from large datasets
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building new approaches in a high-growth environment
  • Additional experience with SQL, R, Tableau or Python is a plus
