Full job description

Seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer with 5+ years of experience in DSP and AdTech, preferably in client-facing technical roles. The role involves leading technical solution design, audience activation strategies, and onboarding for advertiser and agency clients. Responsibilities include pre-sales technical leadership, designing solutions using PubMatic’s buyer stack, conducting POCs, leading post-sales technical integration, troubleshooting campaign issues, monitoring performance, and providing product feedback. Requires strong knowledge of programmatic advertising, DSPs, RTB, APIs, web protocols, ad-tech standards, privacy compliance, and scripting. SQL fluency and analytical skills are essential. The role includes mentoring junior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally. Preferred qualifications include a technical degree, experience in large AdTech companies, understanding of privacy frameworks, and familiarity with AI-driven workflows. What you'll do

  • Serve as technical lead during prospect and client engagements including discovery, scoping, proof-of-concept, and RFP/RFI responses
  • Design end-to-end solutions using PubMatic’s buyer stack aligned with client goals
  • Conduct POCs, validate hypotheses, and align expectations with Product and Engineering teams
  • Lead technical integration post-sales including data onboarding, API integration, log-level data setup, and pixel configuration
  • Collaborate with Addressability team for DMP integration, clean-room setup, and graph matching
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to campaign delivery, data availability, and targeting
  • Monitor campaign performance and health using reporting tools, network dashboards, and Looker
  • Participate in product planning, testing, and release reviews as a client needs champion
  • Translate client challenges into product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering on tooling, automation, internal platforms, and efficiency improvements
  • Train and mentor junior solution engineers and support scaling of best practices
  • Act as trusted technical advisor to advertiser and agency leads
  • Support sales team in shaping opportunities, proposing upsell paths, and defending solution direction
  • Create internal and external technical content such as playbooks, whitepapers, and trainings

Requirements

  • 5+ years of DSP and AdTech experience in client-facing technical roles
  • Deep understanding of programmatic advertising including DSPs, RTB, auction logic, supply path, bid shading
  • Experience with audience activation, data onboarding, identity resolution, DMPs, CDPs, and data ecosystems
  • Exposure to CTV/OTT, mobile SDKs, and omnichannel environments
  • Strong foundational knowledge of HTTP, RESTful APIs, JavaScript, JSON, XML, web protocols, and ad-tech standards (VAST, VPAID, OpenRTB, cookie sync)
  • Knowledge of privacy compliance frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments; scripting experience in Python, Shell/Bash, Node.js is a plus
  • SQL fluency and ability to analyze datasets and define metrics
  • Ability to read and interpret logs, metrics dashboards, and debugging output
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking, pattern recognition, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and driving clarity
  • Mentorship mindset to train and coach junior contributors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
  • Experience at mid-to-large scale AdTech companies or agencies/advertisers
  • Understanding of identity privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, UID2, IAB efforts
  • Experience operating globally or with cross-regional clients
  • Experience with MCPs, agent-to-agent communication, and generative AI tools is a plus
  • Experience integrating AI-driven workflows, automation systems, or agentic tools to improve troubleshooting, onboarding, or campaign optimization
  • Familiarity with leveraging LLMs, APIs, or internal data systems to build or support intelligent workflows
  • Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI/automation to reduce manual effort and scale Solutions Engineering impact
  • Interest in shaping agentic systems to augment client support, technical consulting, and operational efficiency
