Full job description

The Senior Solutions Engineer is responsible for technical leadership in launching new advertising surfaces on the Kargo platform. This hybrid role requires onsite presence 4 days per week in New York, NY. The role involves managing partner integrations from kickoff to live deployment, developing scalable custom code and SDKs, troubleshooting complex ad-serving issues, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Required skills include 5+ years in technical ad tech roles with hands-on experience, deep knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem (SSPs, DSPs, Google Ad Manager, VAST/VPAID, header bidding), advanced JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST API and JSON integration experience, and strong partner-facing communication. Preferred experience includes emerging ad surfaces such as gaming and CTV, and familiarity with IAB standards and privacy compliance. The position offers a salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 USD.

What you'll do

  • Ship new partner integrations on time and at quality with minimal escalations or rework
  • Develop scalable custom integration solutions, code, SDKs, and integration patterns that are documented and reusable
  • Diagnose and resolve complex ad-serving issues, latency problems, and discrepancies independently
  • Provide best-in-class partner-facing technical support to shorten integration timelines and reduce friction
  • Maintain comprehensive and current documentation including API specs, integration guides, and best practices
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for integration quality from scoping to launch to post-live stability
  • Earn trust with technical and non-technical partner stakeholders and manage partner complexity and shifting requirements
  • Work fluidly across product, business development, and sales teams to scope feasibility and surface blockers early
  • Write clear, complete, and maintained integration guides and API specs to facilitate knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a technical ad tech role with hands-on implementation experience
  • Deep fluency in the programmatic ecosystem including SSPs, DSPs, ad servers (Google Ad Manager), VAST/VPAID, header bidding/Prebid
  • Advanced JavaScript proficiency for custom integration logic and non-standard DOM manipulation
  • Strong HTML and CSS skills for ad rendering and placement in overlay and interstitial contexts
  • Experience designing against, debugging, and integrating via REST endpoints and JSON data structures for client-server and server-to-server communication
  • Proven partner-facing communication skills to translate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Methodical debugging and troubleshooting approach across web, mobile, and desktop environments
  • Preferred: Experience integrating non-traditional or emerging ad surfaces such as gaming, CTV, desktop applications
  • Preferred: Familiarity with IAB standards, privacy compliance frameworks, and technical audit/QA processes for ad delivery
