Full job description

Quantcast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Payments & Incentives team. The role involves building payment solutions, incentive programs, and billing systems that integrate with a high-scale advertising platform. Responsibilities include leading engineering initiatives for financial reporting, designing microservices and APIs, collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring peers, and managing on-call incidents. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience with distributed systems and microservices, proficiency in Go and Python or similar languages, experience with APIs, observability, and Agile SDLC. Familiarity with AWS, Kafka, SQS, and Snowflake is a plus. The position is full-time and based in London.

What you'll do

  • Drive engineering initiatives for unified financial reporting and process consolidation, ensuring systems are reliable, monitored, and successfully adopted
  • Lead the design and implementation of robust microservices and APIs to handle payments, incentives, and billing processes
  • Engage with internal customers, product owners and business stakeholders to understand and resolve cross-team dependencies and end-user requirements
  • Support professional development of peers and junior members through constructive feedback on code, system design and engineering processes
  • Manage resolution of complex on-call incidents, implementing measures to improve long-term system health and financial integrity

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems with a focus on microservices
  • Degree in Computer Science or an adjacent field (or equivalent nontraditional training)
  • Proficiency in Go & Python or similar modern language
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs and microservices in a high-velocity production environment
  • Deep understanding of observability and full software development life cycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment
  • Ability to distill complex technical updates into clear, actionable information for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working across team boundaries and with third parties to untangle dependencies
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS), messaging systems (Kafka, SQS), or data warehouse tools (Snowflake) is a significant plus
