Full job description

The Trade Desk is seeking a senior software engineer for the Marketplace Quality Engineering team. The role involves building and maintaining systems that assess and optimize supply quality in programmatic advertising, including deduplication, supply path analysis, quality modeling, and real-time decisioning. The engineer will work primarily with C#/.NET, Python, and SQL, collaborating with product, data, and platform teams globally. Candidates should have 7+ years of software development experience, strong skills in distributed systems and backend development, proficiency in C#/.NET, and familiarity with modern development tools such as Visual Studio and Git. Preferred but not required skills include GraphQL, REST API design, large-scale data processing frameworks, workflow orchestration, Kubernetes, Kafka, and various database technologies. The position offers a salary range of $124,900 to $228,900 USD, comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, paid sick and vacation time, paid holidays, stock-based compensation, and an employee stock purchase plan. Location is Bellevue, Washington.

What you'll do

  • Work on systems that assess, measure, and optimize supply quality across the programmatic ecosystem
  • Handle deduplication, supply path analysis, quality modeling, and tooling that turns signals into decisions at bid time
  • Solve technically deep problems including identity resolution across fragmented supply chains, statistical modeling, and real-time decisioning at platform scale
  • Collaborate closely with product, data, and platform teams across time zones
  • Build systems where engineering decisions have direct, measurable business impact

Requirements

  • Comfortable working on an agile, distributed team across time zones and continents
  • Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid grasp of computer science and engineering fundamentals
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and data-heavy backend work (services, pipelines, or both)
  • Proficient in C# / .NET
  • Productive with modern development tools: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Rider, and Git
  • 7+ years of software development or engineering experience
