Full job description

StackAdapt is seeking a senior engineer to develop and maintain its advertising platform. The role involves building scalable backend systems using GoLang, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and various data stores such as Snowflake, TiDB/TiKV, and RocksDB. The engineer will work with large data sets and collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams. Responsibilities include delivering critical projects, mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, architecting scalable APIs and backend systems, solving technical challenges, managing technical debt, improving system performance, and participating in technical interviews. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in backend development, strong knowledge of the specified tech stack, experience with unit and end-to-end testing, and familiarity with ad tech is a plus. The position is remote and open to candidates located anywhere in North America. What you'll do

  • Be a significant individual contributor and key asset in delivering critical projects that bring value to customers
  • Mentor the team and lead by example to uphold software development best practices
  • Conduct rigorous code and technical specification reviews
  • Advise the team on pragmatic technical approaches to problems encouraging engineering excellence and developer happiness
  • Strategically architect scalable web APIs, component libraries, and backend systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and senior engineers to identify and solve technical challenges
  • Advise teams on technical debt consolidation to efficiently service business needs
  • Identify bottlenecks and system-wide performance issues and offer actionable solutions
  • Conduct technical interviews to attract and identify high performing candidates

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building highly scalable backend systems
  • Knowledge of GoLang, AWS, Kubernetes, and Kafka
  • Prior experience in ad tech is an asset
  • Extensive experience writing code with unit tests and end-to-end tests
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to design, implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • An appetite for using AI as a tool to help in unpacking complexity and simplifying it
