Full job description

The Trade Desk seeks a mid-level full-time software engineer to participate in product strategy, design, build, and delivery of products. Candidates should have experience with distributed systems and proficiency in C#, .Net, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Spark, and Scala; Python is a plus. Responsibilities include potentially leading engineers on large-scale distributed systems, petabyte-scale data challenges, machine learning, and UI development. The role requires effective communication, agile team experience, and strong computer science fundamentals. What you'll do

  • Participate actively in all aspects of product strategy from designing, building, and delivering products for clients
  • Potentially lead engineers focusing on building large-scale distributed systems coordinating thousands of servers in cloud and physical data centers
  • Work on petabyte-scale data challenges, machine learning, advanced visualizations, and interactive user interfaces

Requirements

  • Comfortable working on an agile, distributed team spanning multiple time zones and continents
  • Effective communication across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Proficient in C#, .Net, Java programming languages (Web and API development)
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with Spark and Scala
  • Additional experience in Python is a plus
  • Knowledge of software development code editors (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Rider)
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
