Full job description

Senior Software Engineer role at Smartly in Helsinki. Responsibilities include owning complex projects end-to-end on the Editor platform, delivering incremental value, collaborating with Product and UX, leading technical decisions, contributing to frontend performance and scalability, mentoring team members, and driving projects independently. Requires minimum 6 years experience in frontend development, expertise in React and TypeScript, strong state management and performance optimization skills, autonomy, strong communication and analytical skills, and ability to work hybrid from Helsinki office 3 days a week. What you'll do

  • Own vertical slices of the Editor platform, taking end-to-end responsibility for complex projects from design to deployment
  • Deliver value to customers quickly by finding the smallest possible increments
  • Partner closely with Product and UX to dissect complex requirements into well-designed and well-executed software
  • Lead technical design decisions and tradeoffs balancing long-term architecture with immediate product needs
  • Contribute to the Creative Engineering Group ensuring frontend and core packages remain performant and scalable
  • Mentor and guide team members through code reviews and sharing expertise
  • Drive projects forward independently and proactively remove roadblocks

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in building robust, complex web applications with a mastery of frontend development
  • Expertise in React and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of state management and performance optimization
  • Proven ability to drive projects independently, showing persistence and autonomy in the face of technical hurdles
  • Ambition and eagerness to excel and commitment to continuous growth
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical skills to translate a broad product vision into actionable technical tasks
  • Motivation for solving customers' problems and delivering value to customers at a fast pace
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from Helsinki office 3 days a week
