MNTN is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for their Integrations team to work on large-scale data systems within a SaaS platform. The role requires 5+ years of backend engineering experience with distributed microservice architectures, compiled languages (preferably Golang), and messaging systems at scale. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, testing, and optimizing integration connectors, collaborating with stakeholders, solving data synchronization challenges, and participating in on-call rotations. Candidates should have strong CS fundamentals, experience with Postgres databases, observability tools, and excellent communication skills. The position is full-time and remote, focused on engineering within the Connected TV advertising technology space.

What you'll do

Evolve the Integrations platform to handle trillions of tuples across hundreds of integrations
Design, implement, test, monitor, and optimize integration connectors
Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to maximize data stream impact
Develop creative, scalable, and durable solutions for complex data synchronization challenges
Participate in on-call and team rotations to share operational responsibilities
Contribute energy and creativity to AI usage, knowledge sharing, retrospectives, and team growth activities

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a full-time backend engineer working on a SaaS product with a large data component
Experience with distributed microservice architectures including autoscaling and RESTful service-to-service communication
Experience with at least one compiled language (Golang preferred, Rust, Kotlin, Java, C++ also welcome)
Experience with at least one messaging system at scale (Kafka, SQS, PubSub, RabbitMQ, etc.)
Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals: data types, algorithms, CPU/memory management, networking, internet protocols
Experience with observability systems for microservice architectures: structured logging, tracing, custom metrics
Design-driven professional with ability to plan and articulate designs before coding
Comfortable with Postgres-flavor relational databases and understanding of relational database concerns
Comfortable using command-line interfaces more than UIs
Clear and concise communication skills with both technical and non-technical peers
Idealistic but practical mindset focusing on impactful work
