Full job description

Seeking an experienced pharmaceutical copywriter with at least 3 years in pharma marketing agencies, proficient in DTC and HCP audiences. Responsibilities include creating engaging copy for pharma campaigns, especially for rare diseases, managing projects independently, interpreting medical literature, and adhering to AMA style and regulatory requirements. Must collaborate with internal teams and clients, manage multiple tasks under deadlines, and participate in meetings. Proficiency in Word, Adobe, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, Veeva, and WorkFront required. Salary range $67,800 to $136,600. Locations include Boston, Chicago, Irving, and Atlanta.

What you'll do

  • Create dynamic and engaging copy for rare and refractory diseases
  • Develop and optimize campaigns for branded and unbranded pharma ads
  • Produce deliverables focused on websites and emails for DTC and HCP audiences
  • Manage full span of copywriting services from creative briefs to final approved work
  • Autonomously manage daily workflow on assigned projects
  • Distill medical and scientific information into compelling marketing copy
  • Analyze medical references/literature and translate into promotional content
  • Interpret clinical data and complex information
  • Create copy according to AMA style and client’s brand style guides
  • Use core claims documents to leverage client-approved copy
  • Annotate manuscripts and highlight supporting references
  • Drive content development and take ownership from kick-off through final approval
  • Collaborate with editors and address feedback professionally
  • Update manuscripts based on feedback from editorial, strategy, creative directors, and account teams
  • Work seamlessly across multiple brands and accounts
  • Pivot between DTC and HCP writing as needed
  • Stay current with industry practices and regulatory requirements
  • Produce deliverables in accordance with regulatory and industry requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Participate in planning meetings, project kick-offs, status meetings, brainstorming, and presentations
  • Incorporate client feedback independently and prepare submissions
  • Maintain high motivation, flexibility, and multi-tasking under deadlines
  • Complete administrative responsibilities such as timesheets and status updates
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed
  • Some travel may be required

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical copywriting at a pharma marketing agency
  • Proven DTC and HCP proficiency
  • Strong understanding of scientific and medical references/information
  • Proven content development expertise and collaborator
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Confidently annotate manuscripts and highlight supporting references
  • Impeccable use of English grammar for oral and written communications
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Organizational skills and great attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to participate and interact effectively with teams
  • Be a solid listener and professional partner when receiving feedback
  • Effectively manage time, multi-task, and handle a high volume of work
  • Proficient in Word, Adobe, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, Veeva, internet, and WorkFront
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and guardrails in pharma marketing is helpful
