Full job description

The Senior Manager of Strategic Finance will partner with Finance and Executive leadership to shape company strategy, evaluate growth opportunities, and guide capital allocation decisions. Responsibilities include leading valuation and financial modeling for M&A, partnerships, and market entry; providing strategic decision support to senior leadership; owning long-range financial planning and board narratives; managing end-to-end transaction support; and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure financial rigor in company initiatives. Candidates should have 8+ years in private equity, hedge fund, investment banking, or corporate development with direct investing or deal execution experience, strong M&A transaction expertise, investor mindset, operational rigor, and excellent communication skills. The role is full-time, on-site in Menlo Park, CA, with competitive salary and benefits.

What you'll do

  • Lead valuation work, build sophisticated financial models, and drive scenario analyses for capital allocation decisions including M&A, partnerships, and new market entry
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on high-stakes questions using analytical frameworks and investment intuition
  • Own the company's long-range financial model and translate business strategy into financial projections and board-facing narratives
  • Drive end-to-end transaction support from financial screening and diligence to deal structuring and post-close value realization
  • Partner cross-functionally with Business Units, Legal, and Executive team to embed financial rigor in key company-wide initiatives

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in private equity, hedge fund, investment banking, or corporate development
  • Direct investing or deal execution experience preferred
  • Experience leading or materially supporting M&A transactions including valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning
  • Investor mindset with ability to synthesize complex business dynamics into clear investment theses and risk-adjusted recommendations
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and making high-quality decisions with incomplete information
  • Operational rigor to lead and drive strategic cross-functional projects from start to finish
  • Clear, confident communicator able to translate quantitative rigor into compelling executive and board-level narratives
  • Proven ability to influence C-suite decisions through financial storytelling and well-structured frameworks
  • Entrepreneurial orientation eager to define the strategic finance function
